The Maple Leaf site is a wonderful community open space and p-patch in the midst of a busy neighborhood. With public land at such a premium, community gardens and gathering spaces are essential. Design elements include a strawbale garden shed, raingarden, and kinetic sculptures. Barker Lanscape Architects worked with the community, Seattle Parks and Recreation. Work included design, master planning and consruction documents, public process, construction observation and community work parties.
